The EMICODE® certification system is an internationally recognized certification system that evaluates the emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) of construction products, such as adhesives, insulating materials, paints and others, and was created in 1997 by the German organization GEV (Gemeinschaft Emissionskontrollierte Verlegewerkstoffe, Klebstoffe und Bauprodukte e.V.), an organization dealing with the emission control of construction materials.
EMICODE certification is an important quality mark for products that receive it, as it indicates their compliance with strict VOC emission limits. The certification process involves testing by independent certified laboratories according to defined test procedures.
EMICODE certifications are granted to products that meet the requirements for low VOC emissions, contributing to improving indoor air quality, thus offering consumers, workers and the environment a healthy and safe environment.
In order to maintain the labeling on its products, INTERMIX is obliged to apply high standards during the production process of its mortars.
INTERMIX products carry the EMICODE® EC1 PLUS label, the highest possible level, for very low emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), with even stricter control criteria.
